Psi-FAST is an evolution of Innovaré Offsite’s award-winning patented i-FAST structural timber system which uses increased panel thickness and staggered timber stud detailing to reduce U-values and psi-values whilst offering the capacity to include Pre-Manufactured Value (PMV) elements such as factory-fitted vapour control, windows and cladding.
Psi-FAST provides a super insulated, multi-purpose building component for fast, efficient and simple installation. The evolution of our award-winning structural timber building system demonstrates Innovaré Offsite’s industry-leading position as an innovator in advanced panelised technology.
With U-values as low as 0.10 W/m²K, Psi-FAST can be used as loadbearing, wrap or infill panels. All components are recyclable, CE Marked or BBA Certified.
Key aspects of the psi-FAST system are detailed below.
Psi is used in thermal modelling to describe the heat lost through thermal bridging. Psi-values describe the heat lost through linear junctions or features such as steels, window jambs, corners or eaves.
A1 rated (non-combustible) board and insulation for fiÂre safety according to the Euroclass Âfire safety rating system and surface spread of flame rating class 0 for fiÂre propagation.
The sound transmission rating for a standard panel confiÂguration is RW 56 dB. This can be further upgraded to RW 60-62 dB with an additional gypsum layer on one or both sides. When used as an external panel behind brick cladding the performance will exceed RW 70 dB.
The 384mm thick closed panel construction is available in large-format panels manufactured up to 3.6x8m. The extra-thick panel provides an ideal chassis to mount pre-fitted ancillary items such as windows, brick slips or rain-screen cladding which increases the Pre-Manufactured Value.
By completely separating the loadbearing studs from the cladding support studs with a thick layer of insulation, the panel can provide an overall combined heat loss rate of 0.15 W/m²·K to be compliant with DfE Spec21 standard as a combination of U-values and psi-values.
The extra-thick panel provides an ideal chassis to mount pre-fitted ancillary items such as windows, brick slips or rainscreen cladding which increases the Pre-Manufactured Value – delivering simplicity, speed, and quality control. Panels are transported vertically in stillage frames to protect the pre-fitted elements and to speed up installation.
Engaging with environmental consultants, Innovaré Offsite has worked hard to verify the environmental credentials of offsite panelised buildings rigorously and independently. Psi-FAST panels have significantly lower embodied carbon than traditional construction methods and naturally include sequestered carbon in the structural timber. The panels offer greater control over precision and adaptability while enhancing performance and exceeding cost and efficiency requirements.
It is comparable to a combined ISO+BBA with an emphasis on risk management.
